OK, I know I left you hanging. Bad Kai, bad, bad Kai. But, I'm back now to tell you the story of our fruitless journey to the next state over. Oh, and mad love to Jess for leaving me some GB love and for feeling my pain!
OK, so me and Shana fly all the way out to California (I make it sound so far, it's an hour flight). We hang out at the airport until we can can check into the hotel, then head over to the Westin. Very foo-foo shoo-foo. We were feeling like rock stars. All was well. Anyways, so we grab a cab (hey! That rhymes!!) and head out to the studio. We get there nearly 2 hours early and there are like, maybe 10 people in front of us. So when they finally start letting us in hours later, they make us all go sit on these little benches in different groups. So, here's the deal, they always overbook so that they can be sure to have a packed house, if you come to a taping and get sent home they give you a "turn away" ticket, which guarentees you VIP admission to another taping on another date. So, when it's time to start going inside they ask for people with VIP tics first. A whole funky assload of people come forward waving their tickets. Fuck. So, long story short, there were more of them then there were of us. We got hosed. Hosed. I tried begging in my nice girl voice to the little producer boy (who was pretty hot, even if he was only about 2 feet tall), but, no dice. So yeah, flew all the way to Cali to watch the show on TV. But, at least the hotel was cool.
So, on with life, the Suns celebrity shootout is next weekend. I recently found out that it will be attended by Nick Carter. EEEEEEEEE!!!!!. I'm fairly excited, if you can't tell. Even if he is bringing Whorepants Hilton. She's "coaching". I'm thinking we can co-exist in the same arena, but if she gets too close to me I'm not responsible if I rip out a clump of her hair. I can't stand her. And just for the record, I couldn't stand her before she was all up on Nick. But, it should be fun.
Me, Shan, and Tara took off for Tucson on Tuesday. Went to see Maroon 5 and John Mayer. Very nice show, Maroon 5 was awesome as usual (even though they were bitches and didn't sing "She Will Be Loved"). I think I love Adam Levine. No, like seriously and officially. Last time they sang "Frontin", this time they sang "Shit. Damn. Motherfucker." by DeAngelo. I think the only people in the whole room who knew that song were me and Shana and Tara. So we held tribunal and it was unanimously decided that we shall grant them the ghetto pass they've been working so hard for. Good work boys, good work. John Mayer was good, mellow, but, yeah, duh. He opened with "No Such Thing" which I thought was really cool because I totally respect when a performer sings their really big hit early and does something less known for their finale. He ended with "Only Heart", which was cool. He also sang "Daughters", which I really appreciated. So, yeah, good time was had by all. We called Elaine on the way down just to remind her of yet another thing she was missing, and to encourage her to move back down the mountain. Just a little something I like to do periodically.
Alrighty, I gotta bounce, time to go watch me some Friends. Only 5 original episodes left you know. And did anyone watch The OC?? Jesus, has everyone lost their everloving minds? But I wont get into it cause I know Patty hasn't seen it yet. But anyways, later days!
